peerVu news

Have you ever searched the internet high and low for something?  Have you ever found yourself more confused after you found what you were looking for?  There is so much information out there on the internet that finding the information is no longer the toughest part but rather how do you digest the information.  peerVu is a way for you to get through the noise to get to an answer.  This is called social decision making.

How does peerVu help me and why would I find it useful?  Have you ever asked a question like “what is the best Sushi place?”  “What is the best car seat for a toddler?”  or “Can someone recommend a good mechanic?”  Have you ever looked on Yelp to look for a restaurant recommendation only to find that everything seem to drift to average?  There will always be someone who likes something different then you.  Most of the time, there are many right answers for a single question.  What should be important is “what is the right answer for me in this context?”

People are social.  Social network is hot because it strums our need to connect and share experiences with one another.  Relationships are essential for personal and/or business reasons.  However, not every relationships return the same value.  You probably have a best friend or two or three.  They all provide different support and value.  You often seek advice or simply validation from your support system.  peerVu strives to unlock the value of social network to help you make decisions.

peerVu allows you to ask any question and enables your closest friends to provide their input.  Now, you don’t just ask everyone and anyone.  That’s called spamming in any sense and you will loose friends.  For example, I probably won’t talk to my wife about what type of flat screen TV I should get.  Just the same, she probably won’t ask me what pair of shoes she should get.  peerVu allows you to identify friends that are experts in certain topic areas and allows everyone to identify what they may be an expert in.  The question will be sent to your most valuable peers for that topic and they can provide input with you in mind.

You already do this today.  You call, email, grab coffee, and do all these things.  This is not meant to replace the high touch experience but a different way to communicate more efficiently.  It allows you to describe your context quickly and do it once and communicate that quickly to multiple friends.  We help facilitate the conversation so you can always go back and refer to it.  Each question is like a self-contained discussion which you can refer back to.

What happens if you don’t know the answer?  Well, maybe you know someone who does?  Refer them into the conversation.  The value of that input will be valued more than any generic review on any website because it comes from a credible source.

This is our idea.  what do you think?
